- LEGAL NOTICE
ANY INQUIRIES REGARDING THIS BID SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO THE CITY OF HUBER HEIGHTS ENGINEERING DIVISION AT (937) 237- 5811.
Sealed bids will be received by the City of Huber Heights, Attn: Hanane Eisentraut, Assistant City Engineer at the City Building, 6131 Taylorsville Road, Huber Heights, Ohio 45424, 11:00 A.M., Eastern Daylight Saving on Friday August 6, 2021 for The SOUTHPOINT CROSSING DEMOLITION PHASE II according to plans and specifications on file in said office.
This project consists of the demolition of a portion of the Marian Meadows strip center formerly known as United Furniture and Mattress located at 6131-6147 Brandt Pike.
Pursuant to Section 153.54 et. Seq., of the Ohio Revised Code, the Bidder shall submit a BID GUARANTY in the form of either:
a. A bond for the full amount of the bid; or
b. A certified check, cashier’s check, or letter of credit pursuant to Chapter 1305, Ohio Revised Code, in the amount of TEN PERCENT (10%) of the bid.
The successful bidder must replace the bid guaranty with a one-hundred percent (100%) Performance bond upon award of the bid.
A Bidder/Contractor will be deemed committed to the goals of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act, as amended, 12.U.S.C. 1701U (135.20) (B) Assurance of Compliance with Regulations, and the Department of Labor’s Construction Contractor Affirmative Action Requirements (41 CFR Part 60-4) by submitting a properly signed bid.
A Bidder/Contractor will be required to achieve Minority and Women Business Entrepreneur participation in the contract or clearly demonstrate and document a good faith effort to achieve said participation to be eligible for contract award. A contractor must either meet the 11.5% MBE and 6.9% WBE goal or document a good faith effort in order to be eligible for contract award.
Each bidder must insure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex or national origin.
The Contractor shall pay wages to the laborers and mechanics at rate not less than the minimum wages specified in the current applicable federal government wage determination; in compliance with the Davis-Bacon Act (40 U.S.C. 276A to A7).
This work is also subject to the conditions for contractors in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Community Development Block Grant Program and Executive Order 11246 as amended.
No bids will be considered unless the bidder is represented at a MANDATORY pre bid conference to be held on Thursday, July 29 2021 at 1:30 P.M. at the City of Huber Heights City Building located at 6131 Taylorsville Road, Huber Heights, Ohio 45424.
The purpose of the pre-bid conference is to explain the Equal Employment Opportunity requirements and to discuss the project and determine if any clarifications are required.
The improvements are to be done in accordance with the plans and specifications on file at the Office of the City Engineer, upon receipt of $20.00, non-refundable, made payable to the City of Huber Heights. Bid package can be E-MAILED when requested at no cost to the contractor.
The City of Huber Heights reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities of bids, should same be to the advantage of the City of Huber Heights.
