  • ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Bid No. MCTID 2020-03 Montgomery County Transportation Improvement District (Owner) will receive sealed bids via the Bid Express website (www.bidexpress.com) for the MOT-40-13.33 70/75 Logistics Access Project, PID 98794, Bid No. MCTID 2020-03 until Friday, September 25, at 3:00 P.M., local time. Said bids will be read aloud soon thereafter in the TID Office, 451 West Third Street, 10th Floor, Dayton, OH 45422. Performance of all work incident thereto in accordance with the plans and specifications. THIS IS AN ODOT LOCAL LET PROJECT. THE CONTRACTOR MUST BE ODOT PRE-QUALIFIED FOR THE PROPOSED WORK. A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held at Friday, September 18, at 10:30 A.M. from the Montgomery County Building, 10th floor via a virtual meeting format. Pursuant to Section 153.54, et seq. of the Ohio Revised Code, the Bidder shall submit a BID GUARANTY in the form of either: (a) A bond for the full amount of the bid, conditioned that, if the bid is accepted, the bidder after the awarding or the recommendation for awarding the contract will enter into a proper contract based upon the bid; (FAXED COPIES ARE UNACCEPTABLE); or, (b) A certified check, cashier's check, electronic bid bond or letter of credit pursuant to Chapter 1305, Ohio Revised Code, in the amount of TEN PERCENT (10%) of the bid. If a TEN PERCENT (10%) GUARANTY is submitted, provided that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will, after the awarding or recommendation for awarding the contract, enter into a proper contract, and indemnify the County against all damage suffered by failure to perform the contract by supplying a performance bond in accordance with Section 153.54(2), et seq. of the Ohio Revised Code for the FULL AMOUNT OF THE CONTRACT. (FAXED COPIES ARE UNACCEPTABLE). (c)The Montgomery County Transportation Improvement District, Montgomery County and the Ohio Department of Transportation shall be named as obligees on all bid, performance, and payment bonds. Only those contractors which are currently pre-qualified in the proper work type(s) by the Ohio Department of Transportation will be eligible to submit bids for the construction of this project. A bidder must possess work types equal to at least 50% of the total amount of the submitted bid price. Refer to Special Provisions section of Bid Submittal Documents for project specific information. Proposals, plans, and specifications are on file and may be secured from the Bid Express website (www.bidexpress.com). Contractors and sub-contractors can view and download information free of charge. Only contractors that have obtained a digital ID from Bid Express will be able to submit a bid via Bid Express. A digital ID may be obtained at no cost. However, it should be obtained in advance of submitting a bid as it may take several days to receive. Submission of a bid also requires a payment to Bid Express of $35 per bid, or a monthly subscription of $50 for unlimited bidding. Domestic steel use requirements as specified in Section 153.011 of the Revised Code apply to this project. Copies of Section 153.011 of the Revised Code can be obtained from any of the offices of the Department of Administrative Services. OHIO PRODUCTS: The Contractor and all subcontractors are encouraged to use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in connection with this project.
