- NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Sealed Bids will be received by the Harrison Township Board of Trustees until 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 8, 2016 for the OTELLO AVENUE BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT. Said bids will be read aloud soon thereafter in the Harrison Township Government Center located at 5945 North Dixie Drive, Dayton, Ohio 45414.
Proposal blanks, contract documents, plans, and specifications are on file and may be secured from Harrison Township (2409 Rector Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, 45414) IN PERSON from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM during workdays for a NON-REFUNDABLE FEE OF $50.00 PER SET. To reimburse the design consultant for costs associated with printing plans and bid documents, payment shall be made preferably by company check payable to Kramer & Associates, LLC. Harrison Township will forward all checks received to Kramer & Associates, LLC at the conclusion of advertising. Proposals will only be accepted from bidders who have obtained Contract Documents (including plans and specifications) and have been registered as a plan holder with Harrison Township. Pursuant to Section 153.54, et seq. of the Ohio Revised Code, the Bidder shall submit a BID GUARANTY in the form of either:
a) A bond for the full amount of the bid, conditioned that, if the bid is accepted, the bidder after the awarding or
the recommendation for awarding the contract will enter into a proper contract based upon the bid; (FAXED COPIES ARE UNACCEPTABLE); or,
b) A certified check, cashier's check, electronic bid bond or letter of credit pursuant to Chapter 1305, Ohio Revised Code, in the amount of TEN PERCENT (10%) of the bid. If a TEN PERCENT (10%) GUARANTY is submitted, provided that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will, after the awarding or recommendation for awarding the contract, enter into a proper contract, and indemnify the Township against all damage suffered by failure to perform the contract by supplying a performance bond in accordance with Section 153.54(2), et seq. of the Ohio Revised Code for the FULL AMOUNT OF THE CONTRACT. (FAXED COPIES ARE UNACCEPTABLE).
Only those contractors which are currently pre-qualified in the proper work type(s) by the Ohio Department of Transportation will be eligible to submit bids for the construction of this project. A bidder must possess work types equal to at least 50% of the total amount of the submitted bid price.
This project will receive financial assistance from the Ohio Public Works Commission, Harrison Township and Montgomery County Environmental Services for the development or redevelopment of a capital infrastructure improvement. Therefore, payment to the contractor for contract work will be proportioned and sent directly from each funding source.
The bidder shall submit with the bid, completed forms as provided in the project proposal section “State of Ohio Equal Employment Opportunity Requirements and Bid Conditions.”
Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Montgomery County and Harrison Township, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce, Bureau of Wage and Hour Administration, (614) 644-2239.
Each Proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity.
Domestic steel use requirements as specified in Section 153.011 of the Revised Code apply to this project. Copies of Section 153.011 of the Revised Code can be obtained from any of the offices of the Department of Administrative Services.
OHIO PRODUCTS: The Contractor and all subcontractors are encouraged to use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in connection with this project.
