Proposal would eliminate 20-year maximum on charging rape suspects

Under Senate Bill 185, the clock would not stop ticking at 20 years when it comes to prosecuting a rape charge. The proposed legislation sponsored by Sen. Nina Turner would repeal the statute of limitations that currently governs the prosecution of a rape or sexual battery.
