Proposed bill would set nutritional standards for imprisoned youth
TIFFANY L. PARKS, Daily Reporter Staff Writer
Sen. Eric Kearney is looking to amend current law in an effort to
provide incarcerated youth with healthy meal options. Kearney,
D-Cincinnati, has drafted Senate Bill 306 to require all meals served in
facilities or institutions under the control of the Department of Youth
Services to conform with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, which
was jointly developed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services.
