Comparison of current, past conflict of interest rules for Ohio attorneys

On Feb. 1, 2007, the Ohio Supreme Court adopted Rules of Professional Conduct to replace the Code of Professional Responsibility that the Court adopted in 1970. The new rules were based on the American Bar Association Model Rules, which serve as the basis for professional ethical codes for lawyers in 46 states, but were tailored to effectively govern Ohio attorneys.
