Minimum wage bill passed today rewrites amendment Ohioans supported in November
Republicans deny est. 100,000 workers new minimum wage increase that approx. 600,000 others will receive
(Columbus)- Today Ohio Senate Democratic Leader C.J. Prentiss of Cleveland voted against Sub. House Bill 690 (Sub. HB 690) during a marathon Ohio Senate session that lasted into the night. Republicans put forth a measure-Substitute House Bill 690- in order to alter Issue 2 which was approved last month by the voters in Ohio. Senator Prentiss, who was a lead organizer for the Raise the Wage campaign, reminded Senate Republicans on the Senate floor that by passing this legislation that they have voted to remove an estimated 100,000 workers from this new increase in the minimum wage.
