Municipal Court Rules Change

(Dayton) The rules of practice regarding small claims cases have recently been revised due to what is being called an, “immediate need”, in an email sent on behalf of Clerk of Court Mark E. Owens of the Dayton Municipal Court. Dayton Municipal Court Rule 3.6, the section of rules covering the small claims division, has been amended and an item regarding mediation has been adopted. The new addition gives magistrates the ability to refer small claims cases to mediation, should they feel it be appropriate. The new rule has been in effect since the first of November and has so far been a success.
