Sponsor says legislation designed to ensure greater protection for Ohio's nurses

House Bill 450, introduced in the Ohio General Assembly last week, would increase the penalty for assault of a registered or licensed practical nurse to a fourth-degree felony punishable by a mandatory 12-month prison sentence if the offender knows, or has reasonable cause to believe, his victim is a member of that profession.
